(June 29, 2010) – Here at Epic we’re pretty big on providing developers with awesome tools so they can concentrate on creating cool stuff. We know it can be tough finding solid, reliable help when you’re going it alone. Plus, we like to play your games, so really it’s a win/win for us that you can make more cool stuff.

So when we heard our long-time friends over at Mod DB have been secretly building Indie DB, a special sister website that’s all indie, all the time, we wanted to tell our UDK developers about it! In their June 18th launch announcement, Indie DB promises to “give you (fans and game developers) the tools and means to showcase your project however you please.” This includes blog functionality, a showcase for articles about and awards for your game, and distribution.

The really nifty part? Indie DB’s back end is connected to Mod DB. This means you don’t need to update two different sites each time you have a breakthrough. Update one, and it automagically appears on the other! That’s right, more exposure for the same amount of work you were already planning to do putting your stuff up on Mod DB!

Of course, with Desura (Mod DB’s digital download solution) in closed beta and connected to the back end of both Mod DB and Indie DB, this trifecta of indie game development could be a huge boost  to your sales and marketing efforts. Check it out!
